“Louange” for violin, ‘cello and church organ is a commission from the St. Olav Festival in Trondheim, Norway. It had its first performance with Arve Tellefsen, Øystein Sonstad and Per Fridtjof Bonsaksen Aug. 27th 1999. The piece is based upon and reflecting the atmosphere found in the fifth movement of Olivier Messiaen’s wonderful piece “Quatour pour la fin du temps”. The piece is dedicated to Olav C. Ratkje. For “Louange” the composer received the first price at the IAWM Search for New Music in 2000.

Stykket er en bestilling fra Olavsdagene i Trondheim. Det ble urframført i Nidarosdomen av Arve Tellefsen, Øystein Sonstad og Per Fridtjof Bonsaksen 27.08.99. Referanseverk til denne komposisjonen er femte sats av Olivier Messiaens “Quatour pour la fin du temps”. Jeg har forsøkt å videreføre noen av de mest sentrale elementene i Messiaens komposisjon. Stykket er dedisert til Olav C. Ratkje. Stykket vant førstepris i IAWMs Search for New Music 2000.
